10.1.4 Population

In 2012, about 34 million people lived in Canada. Most of them live in cities. But Canadians do not all live in big centres. Many live in small towns. Many live in the countryside and in farming areas. Others live in places somewhere between a town and a village. So the country is mostly urban, yet its people are spread across every kind of community, from crowded downtown streets to quiet rural roads.
