Police in Canada are there to help you, and you are allowed to hold them to that. If you are unhappy with the service you received, or with the way an officer behaved towards you, you can raise it. Almost every police force in the country has a process that lets a member of the public bring concerns forward and ask for action to be taken. You do not have to stay silent. This is the rule of law working in both directions: police enforce the law, and police are themselves answerable under it, just as judges and politicians are.
