Democracy brings a right and a duty together. Canadians are entitled to help make the decisions that affect their own lives, and they are expected to play their part in making them. The clearest way of doing that is to vote. Any citizen aged 18 or over should vote in municipal elections, in provincial or territorial elections, and in federal elections. Voting is how ordinary people decide who will represent them and hold power on their behalf.
